Getting Booked Solid Getting It Done Networking Self-Promotion

What Will Tomorrow’s Results Be?

Tomorrow’s results are largely about the seeds sown today.

How many seeds have you sown today?

Who have you introduced?

How many have you touched today?

Who have you helped connect?

Who did you LISTEN to today? …..just to be there.

Getting booked solid CAN be as basic as sharing your compassion, connections and knowledge but ONLY ONLY ONLY if they are OPEN and given you permission.

It’s Not Marriage, It’s A Mastermind Group

A Mastermind is an Experience, Not An Academic Pursuit.  It doesn’t require in-depth study.  Just get started!

Most Critical Element of a Mastermind

The critical piece of the mastermind group after creating the structure that will work for you and yield results, is that each person be fully “present” on the other person and come away with more than they contributed.

How do I become “present” for someone?

Choosing Gratitude for Those Around Us

Received this message from The Gratitude Guru, Paul Taubman.  It kinda rocked my world, so I’ve kept it.  Hope he doesn’t mind me sharing it with the world. 🙂

“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.”

-Albert Schweitzer

You are where you are today because of people around you now and in the past. You may not like where you are, or you may be happy where you are. In either case, you are there because of others in your life.
Be grateful for them – they helped make you who you are.

Be Well.

Context vs. Content = Magic Moments

If you’re looking for “magic moments” in your mastermind group, you MUST focus on the context, not the content.

Yes, I know that content is king in other areas, but here, context is king!

It isn’t about the CONTENT; it’s about the CONTEXT, otherwise known as the “structure” of your group.

It’s not just the information and data you bring into your meeting.  The key is the structure you create that facilitates creativity that gives birth to fresh solutions.

Imagine this: You attend a meeting with your team, each one bringing their own agenda.  It’s assumed that you are all there for the same purpose because there is a written agenda for the meeting itself.  But are you sure that everyone is also playing as a team?  Does Jim want what you want?  Is Maria’s top priority to increase sales for the company or to just keep her job?   Are you there to support your team members or to simply air your case?

How To Keep A Mastermind Group Motivated?

How do you keep a mastermind group going?
How do you keep a mastermind group motivated?

I get these questions in one form or another on a REGULAR basis.

Remember this:  In a mastermind group, performance is accelerated to the degree you get real with yourself and your mastermind group members.

If you want it, ask for it.  Don’t compromise.  Don’t small down because you think your mastermind group members will hate you for being honest.

In my research, the primary reason mastermind groups fall apart are a “lack of keeping it real” and in my book that means not asking for what you want.

I had this mentor once that was fond of saying, “You gotta get real to get rich.”  Now that motto applies to pretty much whatever you want to apply it to.  In this case motivation in your group.

Dumping the 400 Year Old Paper Business Card

I’ll admit I’ve never been a fan of the paper business card.  And did you know the paper business card is over 400 Years old?

Relationships are everything.  I thrive on a juicy, connected, authentic conversation with an individual doing what they can to add something to this world.

And like the next guy, I abhor the superficial leisure-larry at the event that believes he’s networking by collecting as many business cards as he can and making sure he distributes as many of his as possible.  Because, ya know “it’s a numbers game, right?”.  BAH! That’s an opening for another post, at another time.

Sure, if we connected at an event (you know “clicked”), I want your contact information but now I have to scan the paper business card in, type it in or get an assistant to input the data.

The “One” You Feed, Wins

One evening a Cherokee elder told his grandson about the battle that goes on inside people.

He said, ‘My son, the battle is between the two ‘wolves’ that live inside us all. One is unhappiness. It is fear, worry, anger, jealousy, self-pity, resentment, and inferiority.

The other is Happiness. It is joy, love, hope, serenity, kindness, generosity, truth, and compassion.’

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, ‘which wolf wins?’

The old Cherokee simply replied, ‘The one you feed.'”

this story from P. 107 of  “Happy For No Reason” continues to support me and pops up at just the perfect time when support is needed.  My desire is that it lifts your wings as well.

Give Love

I recently heard this great song and saw this great video called “Give Love”.

It immediately warmed my heart and renewed my inspiration to spread some love.  I can’t think of a time when showing some love is more appropriate.  It refuels my loyalty to masterminding because it really cuts to the core of what defines a great mastermind group versus the same old tired group meeting that calls itself a “mastermind group”.

Have a listen.  Be with the words and share what it inspires in you.

With all the hurt going on around me, I’m still infinitely grateful for the blessings I have.  In this moments, it reminds me to show some love; give some love….whatever I define that to be to whomever I’m inspired to give some love.

And yes this IS personal!

And yes, this IS business!

Is it giving:   A client, a job, a hug, kind words, dinner out, a check, a gentle touch, a thank you, please, I love you, I appreciate you, the world is a better place with you….whatever it is, it’s perfect.

Tim Sanders even wrote a book about it called “Love Is The Killer App“.  He calls it “Biz Love”.

Sharing your network, knowledge and most impactful, your compassion.

You want to see change in you?  Around you?  Be the change by showing some love.

And speaking of being the change you wish to see in the world, here is a bonus video in honor of the man who is credited with that beautiful quote “be the change you wish to see in the world”

Risk. It’s Worth The Reward.

  • Maybe this is the day to stop waiting on finding  that perfect mastermind group and starting your own.
  • Maybe today is the day to say “yes” to that opportunity you’re not sure you can do.
  • Maybe today is the day that you earn your GSD degree.

Paul Jalbert, the founder of The Merlin Project gives a perspective on Risk.

It is said the second most common regret spoken by people in nursing homes is:
“I should have taken more risks.”

I don’t know about you, but I feel better about a risk I take that fails to deliver the experience
I am looking for, than I do about not taking a risk at all.

If you have little to lose in risking, go for it.  You have much more to lose in failing to risk.

SIMPLICITY: Want to Promote Your Cause? Keep it Simple!

Scott Harrison, founder of the organization charity: water, argues that the key to a successful charity is simplicity.

“You can all understand what we do up here in a sentence,” he explains, adding that it’s important to “show, rather than tell.”
